Would you tell me a little about your ride on the Shimanami Kaido?
・How you felt the first time you crossed the sea by bike
・A hill that turned out tougher than you expected
・A favorite view you stumbled upon along the way
・A memory from a café you stopped at
・A funny mishap or something that didn’t go as planned
Any small story is more than welcome.
Why I’m Asking
On this website, I share information for people planning to cycle the Shimanami Kaido. But distances and routes are only part of the picture. I think hearing how it actually felt to ride it, where people got nervous, what stayed with them most — these real voices might give the next person just a little more confidence to give it a try.
Stories you share may be used as a reference for future articles, or featured directly on the site.
There’s No Prize, But…
Since this is a one-person, independently run website, there’s no budget for giveaways or drawings. But your story could become a source of reassurance, or even a little courage, for someone getting ready to ride the same route. If I can help make that connection, it would mean a lot to me.
What I’d Love to Hear
・Starting point (Onomichi, Imabari, etc.)
・Distance and number of days
・Rental bike or your own bike
・What stood out most to you
・A word of advice for someone about to ride
There’s no set format — a few sentences or a longer story are both welcome.
